Energy Tech is a “limited unscreened” high school. That means that the criteria that give students priority for our program are being a resident of Queens and attending an open house for prospective students and families. Typically, we host 4-5 open house events at our school and at our partner college during the months of October and November. See below for a more detailed explanation of the four priority groups for admissions:

Priority Group 1: Students who reside in Queens and attend an open house

Priority Group 2: Students who reside in NYC and attend an open house

Priority Group 3: Students who reside in Queens

Priority Group 4: Students who reside in New York City

We participate in citywide and borough high school fairs, where you can meet our team, ask questions, and get additional information and open house dates. To formally apply to Energy Tech, you must participate in the NYCDOE High School Application process, and rank us on your application—which you may obtain from your school Guidance Counselor in the fall. Our program code is Q61A, and our school DBN is 30Q258.

We conduct individual school tours by appointment only, and require at least one business day notice. We conduct tours between 9 am–11 am, and after 3 pm, Monday through Thursday. Please contact Natalia Alvarez for more information.
